Interior Design

BAUX, the brand started by Form Us With Love, has designed a new acoustic tile that was inspired by wood, parquet, and bricklaying. Just like their Träullit and Panels collections, Plank helps control sound while creating a modern look in natural colors and wooden textures. We use only natural materials.

The Du Tour Residence is a project led by Architecture Open Form who renovated it for a family who had owned the 1960s home for decades. Located in Laval, a city just north of Montréal, the house needed a more modern interior but it was important to the family to keep the heart and soul of the original design.

Edward Barber and Jay Osgerby created two new, indoor/outdoor tile collections for Mutina that give the user creative control to design a unique space thanks to the endless combinations the tiles afford. Both designs are bold and were inspired by experiments with geometry, color, patterns, and versatility. Take a look and imagine what can be created!

Merrydown is a minimalist house located in London, England, designed by McLaren Excell. The house was originally a single story home occupied by the client’s mother. The original layout placed the various programs in a cell-like formation having bedrooms and bathrooms on one side of the single corridor.

Designer and art curator Lauren Geremia, of Geremia Design, designed this apartment in the Mission District of San Francisco for a bachelor. With a Scandinavian feel, the relaxed and bright interior works well for the resident’s lifestyle and desire to entertain. The white walls offer the perfect canvas for a curated art collection by artists, like Noemie Goudal, Tauba Auerbach, and Josef Hoflehner, where each piece works as a contrast to the muted color palette.

For this month’s Destination Design, we head to Athens, Greece to check out AthenWas, a Design Hotels™ property situated in one of Athens’ most ancient neighborhoods, offering a classic modernist feel with its nod to mid-century details and ancient Greek architecture. The hotel, which stands in the foothills of the Acropolis, was designed by Stavros Papayiannis of Stage Design Office to be a fresh approach to Greek design.
